The Outreach and Education function engages, empowers and educates the Second District communities that the Bank serves, especially civic leaders, students, educators, small business owners, policymakers and the general public. It furthers the Bank's commitment to the region by listening to the communities we serve and leveraging our unique attributes to positively impact school and university programs, as well as analysis and research.
Hamid Mehran holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been on the faculty of Boston College, Northwestern University, and MIT. The main focus of Hamid's research is corporate finance. His papers have been published in numerous journals, including the Journal of Finance and the Journal of Financial Economics. Findings from his work have been cited in Business Week, Chicago Tribune, CPA Journal, Economist, the Investor Business Daily, the Des Moines Sunday Register, the Wall Street Journal, Boston Business Journal, and WGBH-Boston.
