Quarterly Trends for Consolidated U.S. Banking Organizations (Discontinued)

This research product was launched in October 2013 and discontinued in March 2026.

Quarterly Trends for Consolidated U.S. Banking Organizations aggregated financial data across all U.S. parent bank holding companies (BHCs), nonbank subsidiaries of BHCs, and banks not controlled by a BHC. The summary financial statistics were based on quarterly bank regulatory filings.

The report provided both a snapshot and historical perspective on measures of banking industry conditions including earnings, profitability, balance sheet composition, asset growth, capitalization, and loan performance.

Staff economists will continue to track this data, in lieu of a quarterly report, they will periodically highlight evolutions and developments in the banking sector in analysis on Liberty Street Economics. (Select “Banks” in the View by Topic section of the blog to find/locate the updates.)
