New York Fed Names Deborah A. Perelmuter to a Newly Created Post within the Bank’s Communications Group

  New York—Deborah A. Perelmuter, senior vice president, has been appointed to a newly created post within the Bank’s Communications Group in furtherance of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s commitment to more robust communication and overall transparency. In this position, Ms. Perelmuter will be responsible for providing the public with business context and perspective on New York Fed missions, operations and challenges as she continues to advise internally on policy issues and operations, central banking functions and financial markets.

“Debby’s extensive experience in monetary policy operations and financial markets make her uniquely qualified to serve the New York Fed as a resource to our many external stakeholders and reinforce our critical mandates with respect to monetary policy, operations, capital markets, financial stability and other central banking activities,” said President William C. Dudley.

In her work with the Bank’s Communications Group, Ms. Perelmuter will also collaborate closely with the Bank’s Markets Group and the Executive Office.

Ms. Perelmuter has more than twenty-five years experience with the New York Fed, much of that within the central bank’s trading desk operations. Her expertise ranges from financial market and policy analysis and operations to managing external relationships at the highest levels. Her recent positions in the Markets Group have included head of treasury market businesses, co-head of capital markets analysis and trading and most recently executive responsibility for a major analytic and automation project in our capacity as fiscal agent for the United States Treasury Department and policy advisor to the head of the Markets Group.

Ms. Perelmuter holds a bachelor's degree from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stern School, New York University.

Ms. Perelmuter is married and resides in New Jersey.
