New York Fed Names Korn/Ferry to Assist in Search for New President

New York—The board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York announced today it has engaged the executive search firm of Korn/Ferry International to assist the board search for a replacement to Timothy F. Geithner, the president and chief executive officer. Mr. Geithner has been named by President-elect Barack Obama as Treasury Secretary-designate.

The search is being handled by Korn/Ferry International out of their New York office.

The board's search committee will also seek the advice of knowledgeable individuals outside and inside the Federal Reserve System, including current and former Reserve Bank directors and current presidents of the Reserve Banks. The committee will work with Korn/Ferry to select and screen candidates, after which the full board will review the candidates and make its final recommendation to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
